Julia Schuster is an interdisciplinary artist whose primary medium is ceramics, closely followed by text, video and performance. She is a graduate from the Royal College of Art Ceramics and Glass MA programme in 2016 and holds a BA degree in Design from the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano in Italy (2013). In her practice she explores how materiality, writing and movement unite. Selected exhibitions include: Palinsesti in Italy, European Ceramic Context Bornholm, the British Ceramics Biennial and Photo Kathmandu Biennial in Nepal. Julia has undertaken residences in South Korea, the United Kingdom, Nepal and Denmark. She has been awarded Future Lights in Ceramics – Ambassador of European Ceramics 2018. Since 2019 she is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC). Julia is currently represented by Artcare in Vienna.
